Understanding the Mediterranean summer and Caribbean winter seasons is key to planning your career.
The Two Main Seasons
The yachting industry follows two primary seasons: Mediterranean summer (May-October) and Caribbean winter (November-April).
Mediterranean Season
The Med season runs May to October. Yachts cruise between France, Italy, Croatia, Greece, and Spain. Major hubs: Antibes, Monaco, Palma, Porto Cervo.
Caribbean Season
From November to April, yachts migrate to the Caribbean. Popular destinations: St Maarten, Antigua, St Barths, BVIs. Many yachts do transatlantic crossings in October/November.
The Crossover
During crossover months (October-November and April-May), yachts are in refit, transiting, or preparing for season. Good time for maintenance work and less pressure.
